It’s so nice to meet you!
I’ve loved art my entire life! Growing up, I had so many rules in my head about what defined an “artist” and therefore, that I didn’t qualify. It wasn’t until I was an adult that I decided to actually pick up a brush and create my own art just for fun regardless of how it turned out. So, here we are, a space for kids (and adults too!) to simply have fun with art, which is what I would have LOVED as a child! I want to help kids (and adults too!) learn the basic elements to promote self-expression while developing a passion and an outlet for being creative! In a world so plugged into technology, art is such a wonderful way to unplug and unwind.
I taught special education for almost 10 years, so teaching is my jam! I am a Mom to 3 absolutely amazing daughters. I am a self-taught artist primarily using watercolor and acrylics but photography and lino block printing have a warm place in my heart. You can find me at many local art festivals and events. I serve on Gulfport Arts Center's Advisory council along with the planning committee for the annual Gulfport Arts Festival. While taking a break, I love to soak up the sunshine or curl up with a good book and a warm cup of coffee!
